China to send trade, investment delegation to Europe

BEIJING, Nov. 16 (Xinhua) -- A Chinese delegation will leave for Serbia, France, the Netherlands and Ireland this weekend to further China-Europe economic cooperation, China's Ministry of Commerce announced Monday.

Ministry spokesman Yao Jian said the delegation of more than 300 business people from around 170 enterprises would visit the four countries from Nov. 21 to Dec. 4.

The tour, organized by the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products, would involve the sectors of energy, aviation, automobile, telecommunications, machinery, and information technology, Yao said.

The delegation would hold economic and trade cooperation forum and talks with European enterprises, Yao said.

Chen Deming, China's Commerce Minister, would hold talks with Christine Lagarde, French Economy, Industry and Employment Minister, during his three-day visit to France beginning on Nov. 26, said Yao.
